Washington's Local Workforce Development Boards

Local Workforce Development Boards (LWDBs) are the cornerstone of Washington’s public workforce system. Authorized under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act, they bring together business, labor, education, community organizations, and government to guide regional workforce priorities and oversee investments in talent development. Washington has 12 LWDBs, each responsible for a defined geographic area across the state.

Helping to lead dynamic regional workfoce development in Grays Harbor, Lewis, Mason, Pacific, and Thurston Counties.

WorkForce Central are the stewards of the Pierce County workforce development system. They are working to bridge the gap between job seekers, employers, and community organizations.

South Central Workforce plays a pivotal role in the economic vitality of Kittitas, Klickitat, Skamania, and Yakima counties.

The Eastern Washington Partnership WDC meets the needs of employers, workers, job seekers, and youth in the Counties of Asotin, Columbia, Ferry, Garfield, Lincoln, Pend Oreille, Stevens, Walla Walla, and Whitman.

The Northwest Workforce Council is bringing together job seekers and businesses in Whatcom, Skagit, Island and San Juan Counties.

The SWC brings together community leadership to create a coordinated strategy and make investments to ensure a skilled local workforce that meets the needs of employers and creates a vibrant regional economy.

Olympic WDC is dedicated to the development of an innovative workforce system supporting a strong economy and community within Clallam, Jefferson and Kitsap Counties.
